Here’s a collection of some of my favorite electric car videos. Whether you buy a purpose built electric car or use a electric car conversion kit to build your own electric car, the range and variety of electric cars is quite staggering.
Ford’s short overview on their plug in hybrids, which are a combination of electric motor plus a conventional engine and a few other smarts.
This is the new line up of BMW concept electric cars.
If you ever thought electric cars were boring, you’ll be impressed with these designs. Hopefully some of them will make it into production.
This is an in-depth video showing the 2011 Nissan Leaf, which is claimed to be the first mass marketed electric car. The batteries have around 100 mile range.
Google get in on the act with their own electric vehicle pool. They have 30 electric vehicles in their car sharing program for Google employees.
This is Nissan’s brand new electric sports car called the Esflow. It sure looks pretty futuristic and can do 0-60 in 5 seconds, so it’s certainly pretty quick. It’s also able to go around 150 miles on a single charge.
This guy claims to have the worlds fastest street legal electric car. It certainly doesn’t look flash, but it has incredible acceleration.
This is another contender for fastest electric car. I’m assuming it is street legal and supposedly can do 0-60 faster than a Ferrari Enzo.
This video shows an electric car race against a 500hp Dodge Viper. You can probably guess which car wins.
An electric car drag race might sound strange, but these cars are very quick, although the electric whine sounds weird coming from a drag car.
And one for the fans of electric motorbikes. This one claims a world record with 155MPH.
The Solar Powered Grand Prix has an amazing selection of solar powered electric cars. Some of them look more like UFOs than conventional cars.
This is pretty amazing. A Wrightspeed X1 electric car, totally blows away a Ferrari and Porsche.
This video has an urban electric car that can do 0-60 in 4 seconds and a top speed of 130mph.
This video shows developments in Demark for a “smartgrid” that allows you to charge your electric vehicle at the best possible time for both electricity available and price.
Now this is really cool.
This video shows the unveiling of one the the first electric car charging stations in California at the Creekside Inn in Palo Alta.
The electric car charging station, is part of the hotel service for both guests and non-guests. It’s supposed to take around 8 hours to fully charge the batteries.
This video shows the new Mercedes Benz Electric B class. It can do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, which certainly means it isn’t slow. The electric motor is certainly a lot faster than the conventionally powered version.

Thanks for the great selection of electric car videos you have there. I’ve been considering checking out electric car conversion kits for a while now, so perhaps now is the time.
